Happy Earth Day. Search for events, call your representative or senator, get involved. I’m trying to stay off the grid — and off the road — as much as possible today, although I needed to be online to write this, now didn’t I? A bike ride sounds great right about now.

…will illuminate. Even if Clinton were to win Pennsylvania and North Carolina by a 75 to 25 margin, she’d still be two pledged delegates behind Obama! That is, if the remaining contests break, on average, 50-50. Plug in some numbers yourself. Love interactive tools (or is that toys?) like these.

Hillary Clinton deserves congratulations for stemming the tide — somewhat — yesterday. Still, I have to think party leadership had a sleepless night, knowing the results may have all but guaranteed a brokered convention. It’s possible that neither Hillary Clinton nor Barack Obama will have enough votes to automatically earn their party’s nomination. A brokered convention? Can you say ratings?! CNN says that, in fact, the voting split yesterday may help Obama, and that the next 2-3 weeks of primaries and caucuses may favor the Illinois senator.

A great way to keep up with today’s primaries is at Newsvine’s political page. Here’s an interesting thread centered on the New York Times piece which posits the idea that Barack Obama is a Mac, and Hilary Clinton is a PC.

…and, since he’s out of the presidential race, have shifted my allegiance to Barack Obama. Bill Maher has been eloquent in this regard, talking about how America needs a new face, literally and figuratively, and the message it will send the rest of the world. On the most recent Real Time, Maher said something else interesting — and spot on – which I paraphrase: ‘Politics is cool again.’ It’s about time.
